Sylvania Township police are sporting a new look.

Starting Monday, officers will be dressed in midnight blue uniforms after decades of wearing brown. The department patch has also been updated.

Sgt. Clarence Whalen, who coordinated the change for the department, said the update was for both practical reasons and simply because officers wanted it.
